Thank you for phrasing your ask normally and kind, since I am always up for debate and it is nice to see someone who isn’t rude so thank you :)
But to answer your question, I still think it’s wrong because the animal will be killed in the end. Any animal will always suffer when it is going to be killed. If I would go outside now and blow a human being’s brain out I would go to jail for killing that human, why is it so different for other animals? Why are humans the exception? Also, those farms are set up solely for the fact that the animals on the farm will be eaten. I just think that is wrong, because humans do not need meat or dairy products to survive. Especially dairy products are often shown to do more bad than good things for your body. It is different when it comes down to survival; for example in Alaska where they hunt (not keep - hunt) animals in the wild to survive the harsh winters.
Of course I prefer local farms taking proper care of their animals over big ‘meat farms’, but I still find it wrong because the animals are being killed for our consumption while it isn’t needed, and that is kinda what it comes down to I guess. I am really bad in expressing my thoughts sometimes because I want to say so much at once but yeah.. I guess it mainly comes down to the fact that the animals do not need to be killed because there are plenty of alternatives for us.
Also, if statistics are right, the average meat-eating American eats 37 animals per year, while a small family can easily live off an entire cow(!!!!) an entire year. So that means that 36 of those animals die unnecessarily. Numbers like this make me find it not acceptable for people to eat meat if you see how many animals die unnecessarily each year.
Ehh I guess I answered your question properly :)
I explained this a billion times it is because of my ed. Believe me, 80% of the time I eat vegan. But here and there some “bad food” slips through my diet (milk chocolate for example) due to binging and stuff. If I would live on my own (I live with my mom right now) only vegan foods would be present in my house and then I wouldn’t even be able to binge on such foods anymore.
When I eat non-vegan food it is 100% my eating disorder calling the shots, not me.
Wow, you are such a typical meat eater. It is just really really ignorant to be aware of something awful and not do jack-shit about it (excuse my language). What if you would ‘shove it down a rapist throat’ that he should stop raping people because it is an awful thing to do, and the rapist says ‘I know, I’ve heard it and it pisses me off.’ Would you ever stop telling a rapist to stop raping? Of course you wouldn’t if you have a healthy mind!!
If you eat meat at least fucking acknowledge you are contributing to an industry that contributes to rape and violence that is completely and totally unnecessary. Stop being an ignorant little shit head seriously (again excuse my language I normally do not talk like this but it pisses me off). If you really love eating meat so much then go build a barn with no windows, put some animals in there, kick baby animals around for fun and then steal these baby animals from their moms and then slaughter all the family members in front of each others eyes and then tell me again how awesome the meat industry is.
My problem isn’t necessarily the meat eating part but the fact that “us humans” pretend the world was created for us. We have to share the planet with other animals too and we often forget that they also have a right to live happy lives just like we do. Congratulations on being an ignorant human being and have a nice day.
I don’t get all of this animosity between meat eaters and vegetarians. Its a personal choice, just like the one you make when you decide what to wear in the morning. Stop judging people. If its not your thing then fine. But disagreeing with someone doesn’t make you right.
I think it comes more to the point that meat eaters support an industry that promotes rape, violence and animals suffering horribly all together. Vegetarians/vegans support compassion. It is not that vegetarians/vegans hate meat eaters personally it is more that we hate the fact that meat eaters support such an industry that is not even needed in the western world. I obviously cannot speak for all vegetarians and vegans but it seems to me it is like that.
